Frequently asked questions

Good questions

Know how your support works.

What is the 10:20 movement?

The thrift shop’s voucher program uses a $10 sponsorship to provide access to 20 eligible items for someone in need. Family eligibility, sponsorship, item availability, and program rules apply. A nonprofit monthly gift is a separate form of support.

What does preventing homelessness mean here?

Our mission focuses on helping families before housing instability becomes a crisis, through essential support, education, and resource access. We are not currently offering housing placement, a shelter, or direct rent payments through this website.

Is monthly giving available now?

Not yet. The monthly giving page lets you explore monthly amounts. Automatic recurring donations will become available after the nonprofit’s payment service is connected. No payment information is collected here.

Can I change or cancel a monthly gift?

The planned giving experience will include a way to manage or cancel recurring support. Those details will be provided before you enroll. There are currently no active subscriptions through this website.

Is the thrift shop the nonprofit?

No. Magical New Beginnings Thrift Shop is a separate business and community partner. The nonprofit’s mission focuses on preventing homelessness through resources, education, and family support.

Are the resource center and advocacy services open?

They are future plans. The Orange County resource center, food pantry by appointment, computer access, classrooms, and special needs advocacy initiative are still being developed.

How else can I support the mission?

Useful support includes clothing and essential-item donations, sponsorship, and future volunteer or educational partnerships. Coordinate with the thrift shop before dropping off items to confirm what can currently be accepted.
